About us

Glenburn Senior Living offers comfortable, familiar surroundings. Whether it’s independent living, long term nursing, memory care, or rehab, Glenburn offers services and amenities necessary to make living easy and enjoyable.

If you are seeking a home away from home for yourself or a loved one, Glenburn is the perfect fit. Our compassionate staff provide the best care available for our residents as if they are family.

Our Mission

Glenburn Senior Living is committed to upholding Nola Yoder’s faith-based heritage of providing for long-term health and wellness of adults in a home that fosters dignity and respect for everyone as well as provides resources, support and services to surrounding communities.

Our History

Glenburn Senior Living dates to 1923, when Deaconess Nola Yoder led the Methodist Church Home Missionary Conferences project, Glenburn Mission, at the local church. In April 1946, Yoder purchased a boy scout community building, a mess hall, at Shakamak State Park. In just one year, Yoder built two 15 by 20-foot houses with her initial $975 purchase. Later that year, the City of Linton helped fund the building of nine more houses for elderly individuals who were unhoused. When the Glenburn School closed, the building was purchased by the Glenburn Mission and was used as the Rest Haven Nursing Home in 1950.

Our founder, Yoder, was the first administrator at Glenburn with the assistance of an army nurse, Anne, until the 1970s. Then, Tom Fisher stepped in as the executive director for Glenburn. Individuals like Fisher and Gladys Hays, known as the “Faith Overseeer,” carried on Yoder’s mission-driven legacy at Glenburn.

In 2006, then Glenburn Home celebrated in 60th anniversary opening to the public with pictures, stories and memorabilia on display to recognize all Glenburn’s history, dating back to Yoder. In April of 2023, Glenburn Senior Living, celebrated its 77th year serving West Central Indiana with the dedication of board member, Dr. William Murphy, who has been with Glenburn since the beginning in 1946.

Today, there are 149 beds, 26 independent duplexes, an on-campus community wellness center and plans for continued growth in the future. The Glenburn Senior Living team is dedicated to living by Deaconess Yoder’s mission every day to ensure Glenburn’s foundational values live on.

Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is comprised of a group of volunteers including retired ministers and locally owned business professionals. This group is dedicated to the Glenburn Senior Living mission to continue Nola Yoder’s faith-based heritage.

Our Board of Directors meet on a quarterly basis to provide high-level oversight on corporate activities and performance internally and externally.
